According to the Office of International Cooperation, Dr. Basooli, President of the University, welcomed the delegation and introduced the university, highlighting its connection with the reputable Jihad-e-Daneshgahi organization. He noted that the university offers 12 joint programs with prominent Jihad-e-Daneshgahi research centers, such as Royan, Medicinal Plants, and Avicenna.

Dr. Basooli added that the university has attracted increasing interest from international students, with approximately 300 foreign students enrolled in 2024. He also highlighted the university's recent global achievements, including its first entry into the Times ranking at position 1501 and its top ranking among Iran's non-governmental universities according to the ISC ranking.

Discussing international efforts, Dr. Basooli shared that the university has successfully implemented several international agreements and hosted numerous international conferences, including four editions of the International Conference on Tourism and Spirituality and ten editions of the International Conference on Web Research. The eleventh edition of the Web Research Conference is scheduled for April, where participation from Iraqi researchers could foster further bilateral cooperation.

Dr. Basooli emphasized the university’s capabilities in scientific, research, and entrepreneurial fields, expressing readiness to collaborate on short-term programs, joint ventures in startup initiatives, and soft technology and cultural industries at the National Science and Technology Park.

Dr. Al-Rashidi praised Jihad-e-Daneshgahi’s achievements in science, education, research, and culture, noting his familiarity with some of the institution’s capabilities. He added that while many universities face challenges with student enrollment, the University of Science and Culture has managed to increase its intake by offering innovative and practical programs and collaborating with leading professors.

Dr. Al-Rashidi expressed interest in collaborating on long-term programs with Iraqi professors and exploring the possibility of offering joint courses. He also suggested cooperation in scientific journals and joint seminars.

Mr. Mahmoud Pourbafrani, Director General of the Jihad-e-Daneshgahi’s Office of Scientific Cooperation, conveyed Dr. Moslemi Naeini’s keen interest in academic partnerships with Iraq and attracting Iraqi students. He expressed commitment to following up on the proposals discussed and ensuring that the University of Science and Culture receives recognition from Iraq's Ministry of Science.

The visit concluded with a tour of the National Science and Technology Park for Soft Technologies and Cultural Industries, where Dr. Al-Rashidi and his team were introduced to innovative companies and startups within the park.
